The great Melocchi, teacher of Del Monaco, Corelli, and countless others. This is chiaroscuro, fully engaged singing. He teaches him how to properly "cover" ( I know some people hate that term) by going more towards OO in the passaggio while still trying to keep the integrity of the vowel and chest sound as much as possible. The OO and covering is pulling in proper falsetto muscle coordination into the sound - as well as the covering muscles (infrahyoids) - keeping the scuro and lengthening of the vocal folds.

Giuseppe Verdi one of the most influential composers of Italian opera in the 19th century. Verdi works are frequently performed in opera houses throughout the world and transcending the boundaries of the genre, some of his themes have long since taken root in popular culture - such as "La donna è mobile" from Rigoletto, "Va, pensiero" (The Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves) from Nabucco, and "Libiamo ne' lieti calici" (The Drinking Song) from La traviata. Although his work was sometimes criticized for using a generally diatonic rather than a chromatic musical idiom and having a tendency toward melodrama, Verdis masterworks dominate the standard repertoire a century and a half after their composition IL BEL CANTO LIRICO DI ITALIA L'Associazione "Il Bel Canto" programma le proprie attività concertistiche in Italia e nel mondo. Helge Rosvaenge and Gerhard Hüsch sing "In Heiligster Stunde" ("Solenne in quest'ora"), duet from Act III of Verdi's opera "La Forza del Destino". The opera "La forza del Destino" was composed by Giuseppe Verdi to a libretto by Antonio Ghislanzoni and Francesco Maria Piave based on Don Alvaro o La Fuerza del Sino by Angel de Saavedra Duque de Rivas. It was first performed at Imperial Opera in St. Petersburg (Russia) on 1862-11-10 and published by Ricordi. The opera is set in Italy and Seville. Helge Rosvaenge (Helge Anton Rosenvinge Hansen) was born in Copenhagen in 1897. He was one of the most popular and beloved tenors of the XXth century. He was largely self-taught, taking only a few lessons with a local singing teacher. He was known as 'The Knight of the High D'. In 1951 he received the Gold Ring of the Vienna State Opera Gallery. Birgit Nilsson is the only other singer to have received this tribute, a sign of sincere gratitude for an unforgettable contribution to opera. He died in Munich in 1972. Gerhard Hüsch (Heinrich Wilhelm Fritz) was born in Hannover in 1901. This esteemed German baritone and pedagogue received his training from Hans Emge in Hannover. Gerhard Hüsch had an exceptionally beautiful baritone voice. The very talented mezzo Sheila Nadler was given a masterclass at Juillard by Maria Callas in the role of Amneris in Aida. One Callas remark might be astonishing about staying beautiful in any occasion, even in tragedy, at the end. Because Callas would not care, during her career about just sounding or looking beautiful if the dramatic necessity needed more roughness. But one must remember that Amneris is a royal princess, not Santuzza, not Medea.
