Brain conducts a neural orchestra, Rate My Science

http://ratemyscience.com/ Publish your projects or ideas at Rate My Science Hair cells are columnar cells, each with a bundle of 100-200 specialized cilia at the top, for which they are named. There are two types of hair cells. Inner hair cells are the mechanoreceptors for hearing: they transduce the vibration of sound into electrical activity in nerve fibers, which is transmitted to the brain. Outer hair cells are a motor structure. Sound energy causes changes in the shape of these cells, which serves to amplify sound vibrations in a frequency specific manner. Afferent neurons innervate cochlear inner hair cells, at synapses where the neurotransmitter glutamate communicates signals from the hair cells to the dendrites of the primary auditory neurons. The primary auditory cortex is the first region of cerebral cortex to receive auditory input. Perception of sound is associated with the left posterior superior temporal gyrus. The superior temporal gyrus contains several important structures of the brain, including Brodmann areas 41 and 42, marking the location of the primary auditory cortex, the cortical region responsible for the sensation of basic characteristics of sound such as pitch and rhythm. http://ratemyscience.com/ As a teacher, you and your students can use Rate My Science to deposit and rate projects

MUSIC and VOCAL Lessons for Tenor Lyrical Singing

MUSIC LESSONS in Italy, vocal Lessons for Tenor and Soprano, the lyrical singing techniques of the Italian Bel Canto by The MAESTRO MARIO CANANA "The Italian Tenor Spinto" in his music culture and voice lessons, in Italy, for lyrical VOICE, MELODRAMATIC opera and lyrical culture. In this video the Maestro Canana's explain to students: tenor FABIO DE BENEDETTO how important it's to execute voice and vocal singing exercises for tenors and sopranos to reinforced voice and lyrical vocal cultori. http://www.ilbelcanto.org/ The Maestro Canana and the "Associazione Il Bel Canto in Italy" offers lessons for beginners, Tenors, Baritono, Sopranos and Master Class and international Master Lyrical singing and Melodramatic culture and art conference LOOKING FOR PRIVATE LESSONS OR A CONFERENCE BY MAESTRO CANANA? call in Italy: +39- 333- 6371 644 at http://www.italianbusinessguide.com/ THE ITALIAN OPERA - IL BEL CANTO The bel canto opera movement flourished in the early 19th century and is exemplified by the operas of Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Pacini, Mercadante and many others. Literally "beautiful singing", bel canto opera derives from the Italian stylistic singing school of the same name. Bel canto lines are typically florid and intricate, requiring supreme agility and pitch control. The bel canto era style was rapidly popularized by Giuseppe Verdi, beginning with his biblical opera Nabucco. Verdi's operas resonated with the growing spirit of Italian nationalism in the post-Napoleonic era, and he quickly became an icon of the patriotic movement (although his own politics were perhaps not quite so radical). In the early 1850s, Verdi produced his three most popular operas: Rigoletto, Il trovatore and La traviata. But he continued to develop his style, composing perhaps the greatest French Grand opera, Don Carlos, and ending his career with two Shakespeare-inspired works, Otello and Falstaff, which reveal how far Italian opera had grown in sophistication since the early 19th century. After Verdi, the sentimental "realistic" melodrama of verismo appeared in Italy. This was a style introduced by Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana and Ruggiero Leoncavallo's Pagliacci that came virtually to dominate the world's opera stages with such popular works as Giacomo Puccini's La Boheme, Tosca, and Madama Butterfly. Ronnie Drew The Last Session: A Fond Farewell on RTE News at 9

Buy it on: http://www.celticcollections.com RTE News coverage of the launch for Ronnie Drew's last album, The Last Session: A Fond Farewell at O'Donoghue's Pub in Dublin, Ireland. The collection on this album is no more, nor no less, than Ronnie Drews musical epitaph, the music he wanted the public to hear after a lifetime of playing and recording in the world-renowned style of the Dubliners and their associates. This album is different, the musicians backing Ronnie are jazz players, the duets are with some of our leading singers in a diversity of styles, and Hugh Buckleys inspired arrangements place Ronnie in a setting he has never had before. It is also something of great historical importance Ronnie Drews last record, made between November 2007 and May 2008, three months before he died of cancer. The choice of songs was Ronnies call. September Song, the great jazz song Nobody Knows, Shane McGowans A Rainy Night in Soho, Mike Hanrahans The Best of Times, The Auld Triangle, Loves Old Sweet Song, The Last Wave and Molly Malone. All the guest singers loved the project and were honoured to record with Ronnie. Damien Dempsey said Now, Ive finally made it. Ive recorded with Ronnie Drew. This was one of the very best days of my life. Emmanuel Lawler said afterwards. Mary Coughlan said It was a once in a lifetime thrill. Hugh Buckley recalled the unique atmosphere in the intimate studio during the sessions. We were all friends and there was a great vibe of mutual respect in the air. Each day in the studio was full of that wonderful feeling that something special was happening.
